About. Marina Eng. Art Photographer. New York

Bio

Marina Eng was born in Russia in 1977. With a background in graphic design, she came to fine art photography through commercial and advertising projects. She has been based in New York since 2012.

Marina’s artistic approach combines classical photography and hybrid media to create a unique style characterized by a soft color palette and emotional depth. Her work reflects the complexity of the female experience, focusing on themes of life crises, vulnerability and ageing.

Artistic statement

I work with photography, digital collage, hybrid photography, video, and assemblage. I am interested in how personal and collective experiences shape an individual’s inner world, influence self-perception, and are reflected in relationships with others.

Through staged imagery, I create visual narratives that explore the anxieties and emotional states of contemporary life. I am particularly interested in moments of transition — when a person encounters internal or external change and begins to reconsider their sense of self and life experience.

My projects investigate states of uncertainty and transformation, creating a space where viewers can reflect on instability and the human capacity to adapt.
