THE COLLECTIVE SHE
A woman is an amazing being. A new life grows inside her, and she becomes a whole world for another person.
A girl comes into this world as an innocent angel. As she grows up, she learns to go through pain, hurt, and disappointment. Her body suffers during childbirth, and her heart breaks when she’s betrayed. She faces prejudice, becomes wiser and stronger, and learns how to forgive and love. With time, her spirit grows, even though her body ages.
But beyond these external trials lies a quieter, deeper journey — the lifelong search for identity. It takes time to accept the realities that may not fit society’s narrow expectations: aging, childlessness, illness, or a sexual orientation different from the norm. In many patriarchal cultures, women live under rigid rules written by men, where asserting one’s individuality often feels like an act of rebellion. Finding one’s voice in such a world demands immense strength and courage.
I try to capture these moments in my work. I take portraits of women — strong and gentle, broken and healing, aging and searching for themselves in difficult times. I want to show them that they are beautiful, even when life is hard. Like the Phoenix, they can rise again, no matter what.
